WE WOULDN’T MAKE TOO MANY CHANGES;KOTOKO MAKES STATEMENT ON KEEPING CURRENT SQUAD

Acting Public Relations Officer of Asante Kotoko has stated that there wouldn’t be too many player transfers in and out of the club any time soon to ensure continuity in future.

In an interview on Ahotor FM, David Obeng Nyarko, who doubles as the head of brand and marketing department claims that although there will be few incomings and outgoings, the club will not make a wholesome transfer as had been done in previous seasons.

“As far as the players are with us and we are able to pay them,it means we have the capacity to keep them”.
“Everyone knows Asante Kotoko is one of the best clubs that pay the highest remunerations to footballers and there are a lot of conditions in the club you hardly find in other clubs which shows we have the financial muscle to keep them”.

“A football club is an entity that sees footballers in and out but the most important thing is keeping the core of the team so that the team will  have its own identity”

Some fans recently had urged the new board to go into the market and bring in fresh legs to beef up the squad but the communications officer has asked for patience from the fans and urged them to have confidence in the board.

“We understand the opinions of our supporters so we are going to put in the right frame of work to make sure the core of the team and the identity and style of play will continue to remain intact”

“The supporters must have faith in us that the management will do what is best for Kotoko”

Asante Kotoko had already exited the CAF Champions League and Confederations Cup this season and are having mixed results in the ongoing Ghana premier league.

They sacked their head coach Maxwell Konadu due to inconsistent results and there are already doubts over their new coach Abdulai Gazelle.
