The much awaited match week 14 outstanding game between the two powerhouse of Ghana football ended in a goalless draw at the Accra Sports Stadium on sunday afternoon.
Both teams spurned a penalty as former Nkoraza Worriors team mates Kwame Poku and Isaac Mensah failed to convert from the spot in either half for Asante Kotoko and Hearts of Oak respectively.
Kotoko’s penalty came in the second minute after a clumsy challenge by Hearts’ Nuru Sulley on Kwame Poku while the Phobians had theirs in the 70th minute when goalkeeper Razak Abalora fouled substitute Isaac Mensah.
Hearts dominated the first half but failed to convert their chances while Kotoko came back after the break and gave out a superb performance with star player Fabio Gama showing glimpses of his qualities.
With Kotoko aiming to come back to winning ways after their exit from the CAF Champions League and Hearts aiming for a third straight wins, it was a disappointing draw for both.
Hearts and Kotoko are both level on 24 points but the Phobians are fifth on the league table on goal difference and Kotoko has two outstanding games against King Faisal and Bechem United.
This was the 107th fixture between the two giants and ended with the 37th draw.
