Kostadin Papic has resigned as head coach of Accra Hearts of Oak following a misunderstanding with the club’s top hierarchy.
Ahotor FM sports gathered that had threatened to resign since last week due to some technical and management mishap and offers received from clubs in South Africa and Tanzania for his services.
The former Lobi Stars gaffer was appointed three months ago to replace then head coach Edward Nii Odoom on a two year contract.
Further information gathered by Ahotor Sports desk is that during the meeting, Papic said if certain things don’t change, no professional Coach will be able to Coach Hearts. He told this to the board.
He claims the Hearts team is average and the best position any Coach could get in the league is between 6th to 8th. He also alleged he was asked to field players against his will and at certain instances was asked to even field players who were returning from injury without much fitness and sharpness to play.
The news comes as a shock just a few days after the resignation of their Assistant coach Joseph Asare Bediako.
Asare Bediako resigned citing personal reasons although Ahotor Sports has gathered that it was interference from the board and some decisions he thought were not favourable and were impediment on his job.
Meanwhile, Goalkeepers trainer Ben Owu has also resigned with immediate effect and also citing personal reasons for his decision.
The experienced goalkeepers trainer was appointed in 2019 having left his post at Obuasi based Ashanti Gold.
Team Manager Saban Quaye is also threatening to resign and may not be surprising should he leave in the next couple of days.
