NDC officially confirms decision to fight rigged electoral results at the supreme court.

The National Democratic Party has issued a statement signed by general secretary Mr. Johnson Asiedu Nketiah affirming the party’s decision head to the apex court of the land, the supreme court, to challenge what the party and many Ghanaians consider to be the most discredited electoral results under this fourth Republic.

The electoral commission of Ghana since the declaration has come under heavy criticisms by many including CSO’s, political parties and internal obverser missions who monitored the elections across the country for what they described as lack of transparency in the collation of results at various collation centres by the commission and subsequent glaring arithmetic errors in the figures thrown out by the commission..

Many Ghanaians both home and abroad especially supporters of the NDC have since the declaration openly protested across the country in a bid to draw the attention of the world to what they described as a monumental electoral fraud staged by the electoral commission of Ghana in favor of the ruling npp government led by President Akuffo Addo on December7th.

In the statement, the general secretary of the party has confirmed its decision to proceed to the supreme Court to contest the presidential results as declared by the EC. The decision was arrived at in a crunch meeting by members of the National Executive Committee held Tuesday afternoon.

The party has also hinted it would resort to other legitimate means such as protestations and demonstrations to press home its demand for the government of president Akuffo Addo to enforce rule of law and protect life and property in Ghana and take all necessary measures to bring to swift justice those responsible for the murders ans injuries and destruction of properties before, during and in the aftermath of the general elections.
