I don’t support sacking of coaches – Mintah
The Director of Coaches in Ghana Professor Joseph Kwame Mintah has shared his thoughts on the ongoing Ghana Premier League and the coaches in the local scene.
The experienced coach claims that this season’s local league has seen lots of upsets and he isn’t surprised because all the teams have prepared a lot and have shown in their matches.
” The ongoing league has become very competitive because every team is performing very well in each game, I can say that what the club is doing is a true reflection of their pre-season preparation before the season”
The Ghana Football Association (GFA) this year announced that Prof. Joseph Kwame Mintah has been appointed as the Association’s Director of Coaching Education for a period of two years.
Professor Joseph Mintah who was recently attached to the National Teams Department as a psychologist comes to the new role with depth of experience in Coaching and Physical education.
The former Ebusua gaffer had lots of praises for the FA but didn’t also hide his displeasure towards the sacking of coaches in the league . He believes that lack of patience and sometimes improper planning from club administrators are partly to be blamed for that.
“The FA being the Administrator of the league has put everything in place for the Clubs to improve themselves this season”
“Club owners should consider certain things, do proper reviews and find out their problems before sacking their coaches because sometimes it can go against them especially when the season is ongoing but for me I don’t support sacking of Coaches”
“If Kotoko has sacked their head coach, they know the process of appointing a coach who’s documents are genuine because they have Emmanuel Dassoberi who knows everything”
Professor Mintah in conclusion has advised players that they should continue their training during the Christmas break.
Professor Mintah holds a Doctorate degree in Education (Sport Psychology) and a Master of Arts Degree in Physical Education from the University of Northern Iowa, USA.
