An Economist, Dr Adu Sarkodie says the prudent spending of government is very critical to boosting the post covid-19 economy.
He explained that, government is the major buyer of every economy which serves as lubrication to the economy.
And therefore is opposed to a section of commentators criticizing the relief of taxes and some financial injections into the economy.
Dr Sarkodie was reacting to comments that, the mid-year budget review of the Finance Minister, Ken Ofori –Atta is a kind of ‘freeby’ budget review with more reliefs.
Lots of people have also expressed concerns over government’s 3 months free utilities and other interventions against the background of poor financial generation which according to them, could spell doom for the country.
The Finance Minister, in his review requested for an extra GHC 11 billion supplementary budget.
But Dr Sarkodie said, government’s prudent spending is vital especially in the current economic status.
