Some political parties are not happy with the compilation of the new voters registration exercise conducted by the electoral commission in the various second cycle institutions due to the covid-19 crisis
As of today, over 100 students have been infected with the novel corona virus and has become the trending issue in Ghana and left parents in emotional trauma as they have been prevented from visiting their kids with the fear of the virus surge
So far, three final year students have lost their lives and blame the teachers of the various schools for negligence with one headmistress interdicted
But for Farudeen, all these are signs of the end times for the ruling New Patriotic Party and end of the lies for an incompetent President
“Thanks to covid-19, the ruling Akufo Addo government- led has been exposed of their lies and gross incompetence”
“The reopening of schools, was all planned just to register kids with the view of voting for the NPP come the December polls”
“Do they think all the final year students are going to vote for the NPP, and do they think they will win the elections with the lies they are perpetuating?, he asked
Lots of people have raised concerns about the psychological stress the students are going through due to the infections of their mates
Educational teachers unions like the Ghana National Association of Teachers (GNAT), the National Association of Graduate Teachers (NAGRAT) among others have called for the closure of schools and ultimately suspending the West African Secondary School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) for this year
Some parents have also stormed certain schools to take their wards home with the fear of infection and are accusing the government of failed promise of adequate provision of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for their wards at school; a problem they claim has contributed to the surge of the covid-19 pandemic
“As for the unfulfilled promises, the least said about it, the better. He promised us adequate PPE’s for the students, but has failed the parents and students woefully”
“Let me say this, even if vice president Dr Bawamia is chosen as the Chairman of the electoral commission, president Nana Addo will still lose the 2020 election”
” Although there are calls to psych the students in these hard times, there are no psychologist more important now than the parents especially the mothers of these students. So there is the need to allow the mothers to go see their kids”, he opined
“All these and many other phantom promises has turned the government into a laughing stock and the December polls will prove”
