Across the borders of the country, there are no military men anywhere apart from the Volta region
Dela Edem
A member of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC)’s national communication team, Dela Edem, has rubbished claims from the presidency that, the military deployment in the Volta Region is to protect our borders from foreigners amid the Covid-19 scourge.
The outspoken communicator claims, the motive is rather to prevent Voltarians from registering for the December polls. He has therefore advised all Ghanaians to disregard the President’s claims and treat it as chaff.
“Across the borders of the country, there are no military men anywhere apart from the Volta region,” he indicated.
He says the brutalities going on in the region must be unequivocably condemned by civil society groups and all citizens.
Dela Edem, who has been in the political realm for more than twelve years, opined that Ghanaians are peace loving people and those watching these matters unfold, will make a meaningful impact in the December polls.
According to Mr. Edem, there is peace all over the border towns with the exception of the ones in the Volta Region. A move he says is needless and unwarranted at this particular time.
He finally pleaded with all Ghanaians as a matter of urgency to go out in their numbers to register for the upcoming elections and vote out the unpopular NPP government of Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.
