Black Queens Qualify for 2026 WAFCON After Dominant Win Over Egypt

The Black Queens of Ghana have sealed qualification for the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) following a commanding 4–0 victory over Egypt in the second leg of their final qualifying tie at the Accra Sports Stadium.

Ghana entered the game determined to finish the job, and they did so in emphatic fashion. Star forward Doris Boaduwaa was the heroine of the day, netting a sensational hat-trick to lead the Queens to glory. She opened the scoring in the 52nd minute before doubling the lead just three minutes later.

Defender Comfort Yeboah extended Ghana’s advantage with a powerful strike to make it 3–0, and Boaduwaa completed her hat-trick to seal a memorable win for Nora Häuptle’s side.

The victory was a testament to the team’s discipline, teamwork, and attacking flair — qualities that have defined their resurgence in recent months.

Despite the match being played on a weekday afternoon, Ghanaian fans trooped to the Accra Sports Stadium in their numbers to cheer the Queens on, creating an electric atmosphere that spurred the team to deliver one of their best performances in recent memory.

With qualification now secured, the Black Queens will turn their focus to preparations for the 2026 WAFCON, where they hope to challenge for continental glory and reaffirm Ghana’s place among Africa’s elite in women’s football.
