Hurray, NDC chalks 28 years of success

The former President, John Dramani Mahama (JDM) of the republic of Ghana and currently the flag bearer of the opposition National Democratic Congress Party (NDC) has on his facebook wall, has hinted on the history of the great party.

John Dramani Mahama is a man of integrity, competence, vision, and futuristic with a big heart for all.

JDM was ranked as part of the top 10 best presidents in the world recently due to his competencies during his tenure as the president of the republic of Ghana.

John Dramani Mahama (JDM) is a flag bearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) which was founded by ex-president Jerry John Rawlings (Papa Jay) who was then Head of State of Ghana from 1981 to 1993 and the president of Ghana from 1993 to 2001.

The party was founded on 28th July,1992.

The NDC was formed as the ruling party ahead of elections in 1992, in which Rawlings was elected as president, and in 1996 he was re-elected as the NDC candidate.

Rawlings, second term ended in 2001.

The NDC lost the presidency in 2000 elections, and it was not until the 2008 election that they regained it with candidate John Evans Fiifi Atta Mills.

The party symbol is an umbrella with the head of a dove at the top. Below shows the symbol of the party demonstrating the head of the dove at the tip:

The party colours are red, white green and black, and the slogan of the party is ” unity, stability and development”.

On the 9th December,2012, the Electoral Commission of Ghana declared NDC candidate John Dramani Mahama to be president-elect after a hotly contested race in which he won 50.7% of votes cast.

John Dramani Mahama stated on his Facebook Page today, 10th June,2020 wishing the party a happy 28th anniversary flag raising to the great party, National Democratic Congress.
