A remand inmate of the Abor Police Station in the Volta region, Thomas Agbezuke, is reported to have attempted cutting his testis off, as an attempt to commit suicide.
According to the Station Officer, C/Inspr. Asirfi Yeboah, he received a distress call a colleague, G/Cpl. Emmanuel Kyei that as he went a routine checks on the inmates in the cells, he detected that a remanded prisoner, Thomas Agbezuke, a native of Afife aged 35 who was involved in an attempted murder case, has cut off his manhood with an unknown sharp object, and was bleeding profusely.
Our Volta Regional Correspondent, Nana Kofi revealed that, the victim, according to the Station Officer was quickly rushed to the Sacred Heart hospital, Abor for medical attention.
A search conducted in the cells to identify the object for the suspected suicide proved futile.
