NPP never win elections with level heads – Osahene Major Boakye Djan (rtd)

A onetime military man who single handedly planned and executed the June 4, 1979 Coup with the help of junior staff members of the Ghana Armed Forces which eventually brought Jerry John Rawlings’ Armed Forces Revolutionary Council (AFRC) to power, Major rtd. Kojo Boakye Djan,  says the Dankwa-Busia Tradition which metamorphosised from the UGCC has never won elections so easily in Ghana.

According to him, the tradition has, since the days of Dr. Nkrumah failed to win support of majority of Ghanaians since the formation of the country.

He emphasized, the UGCC being the first formalised political party in the country failed to win the heart of Ghanaians when they immersed themselves heavily in big English and elitism, a feat they have maintained in their body language till date.

He revealed, when the UGCC changed to become the UP nothing changed and that they won the 1969 elections through highly suspicious means amid vigilantism and vandalism, a feat they maintained even in the recently held general elections in 2016.

Speaking on Accra based Ahotor FM’s weekend political talk radio show dubbed YEPE AHUNU hosted by ace journalist and radio personality Kakeeku, Major Kojo Boakye Gyan said the party can never be gentle and more civilised since they have never been.
