Tunisia’s football league resumes in August
All the deadlines are subject to the approval of the state institutions responsible for defining the general policy for the fight against the corona virus in accordance with the requirements of the health and epidemiological situation
Tunisia is set to resume its soccer league in August following the release of a strategy document by the Tunisian Football Federation (FTF) and the Tunisian Health Ministry on May 27.
It says all players must commit to respecting virus prevention measures and state that they understand the risks. In addition, assessments and medical examinations will be conducted before and during the competition.
Football in the North African country has been suspended since mid March due to the corona virus pandemic. The Ligue 1 was suspended after the sixteenth week with Esperance de Tunis on top of the league table.
Initially, the league was planned to restart in June. However, the federation failed to get approval from the government hence the rescheduling for August. The 2020 – 2021 season is expected to kick off in October.
A statement on the FTF website reads:
The resumption of professional Ligue 1 will take place in August 2020. A certain number of measures will apply which have previously been published and which will be sent to the clubs in the form of directives. They will be published again to remind them.
The 2020 / 2021 season for Professional Ligue 1 will start on October 24. The 2020/2021 season for the other divisions will start on October 31. The Cup matches will be scheduled according to the requirements of the general calendar.

If the official meetings have not resumed in August, the federal office will announce the necessary decisions at the appropriate time.
Meanwhile, the Ghana Football Association is yet to decide on the fate of the Premier League having said it will take its decision by the end of June.
