The $60 million Tema motorway roundabout interchange was to replace the old one, to ease traffic on the Accra-Aflao Highway and the Tema-Akosombo road which intercept each other at the motorway roundabout.
The Project is finally completed and has been handed over to the government of Ghana which the National Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Dr. Samuel Ofosu Ampofo is telling the president, Akufo Addo to acknowledge the former president, John Dramani Mahama for starting the project.
Speaking on Ahotor Fm’s morning show Adekyemu Nsem, the National Chairman said the money the NDC borrowed when in power gave the country the projects the NPP are commissioning.
“Look at the expansion project at the Tema port, it was made possible with the money the NDC borrowed under the leadership of John Mahama, that same borrowed money also gave us the Tema motorway roundabout interchange” He said.
Dr. Samuel Ofosu Ampofo revealed that the former President John Dramani Mahama gave the go- ahead for the commencement of the first phase of the project before leaving office.
He threw a challenge to the President Nana Addo Dankwah Akufo-Addo to acknowledge the former president for starting the project, something the late Atta Mills did when he acknowledged the former president Kufuor for starting the N1 highway.
“Am throwing a challenge to Nana Addo that, President Kufour started N1 road but he didn’t finish and when late Atta Mills completed it, he acknowledge Former President Agyekum Kufour when he was commissioning the N1 road so for once I expect Nana Addo to do same” He said.
He concluded by saying the projects the NDC used the borrowed money for are all over the country, but you can’t point a single project the NPP is using their borrowed money for.
