Tax Identification Number (TIN) has been identified as one of the basic criteria for government’s GHC 600 million stimulus package.
The package has become necessary to assist Small to Mid-size Enterprises whose businesses were negatively impacted upon by the covid-19 pandemic.
The soft loan has a year moratorium and a two-year payment plan.
The Executive Director of the National Board for Small Scale Industries, Ms Kosi Yankey said, possession of a TIN would be critical in accessing the facility.
She said, her organization would assist any applicant who has not been captured under the TIN to do so, thereby developing a data base that would help to streamline activities of the SMEs.
She says, the package is not exclusive as it is meant for all, including the private sectors.
Ms Yankey disclosed that, the disbursement would be done through the rural banks and the telcos so as to reach as many as possible.
Citing the APEX bank with branches across the nation, to make sure beneficiaries get the support.
