GFA needs a second Normalisation Committee – Abe Pobee

Astute Football Administrator, Mr Jonathan Abe Pobee has claimed that the Ghana Football Association has failed, and need a second Normalisation Committee to reorganize the managerial disposition at the association to ensure effectiveness within the corridors of the country’s football body.

The Football Association have been in turbulent times since the Anas Aremeyaw Anas Football Corruption Expose dubbed No “12” unveiled which rocked Ghana football in June 2018.

The Federation Of International Football Association (FIFA) in conjunction with Confederation Of Africa Football (CAF) and the government of Ghana formed a liaison team to run the affairs of football in the country as the GFA President, Mr Kwesi Nyantakyie and some executive committee members were caught in the expose taking money and making unethical remarks according to FIFA regulations.

After a short period, a normalisation committee was formed to bring back normalcy at the football association by running their day to day activities, reviewing the football association’s statutes and organising elections.

After one and a half years of the normalisation committee’s activities, an election was organised in October 2019 in which Mr Kurt Edwin Simon Okraku emerged victorious as the new Ghana Football Association President. So far things have not been smooth for the new GFA President as some club administrators including Mr Jonathan Abe Pobee have raised concerns about his style of governance.

According to the former Neoplan Stars chairman, who often labels the current football capo and the executive council as “cockroaches” has demanded that a second normalisation committee is brought back since there are no football activities in the country to put things in order at the association.

” The normalisation committee didn’t finish with their job and hurriedly handed over the association to the current executives and i want them to come back and re organise things before handing over after the covid 19 pandemic because things are not going on well at the association” Mr Pobee said !

He made this comment after the football association published a statement that they are indebted to the tune of GHC 11million.
