The National Chairman of the NDC, Dr Samuel Ofosu Ampofo has stated that, the posture by the Akufo Addo led government in the fight of covid-19 is very dangerous.
Hon Samuel Ampofo revealed this on Ahotor 92.3 fm together with the former Ghana Ambassador to India, H. E Sam Pee Yalley.
The NDC National Chairman explain, and questioned the rationale behind claims by the Ghana Health Service and Health Ministry, which suggested the country will soon get to the peak, in the fight of the pandemic regarding available cumulative cases recorded so far.
He noted that, if government does not heed to advise by health professionals in frontline management of Ghana’s covid- 19 fight, the situation could assume a dire spectacle.
Stressing that, the current taskforce handling the affairs of the cases so far seem to be playing diplomacy with the data of the coronavirus, as well as craftily managing measures earmarked upon by the State to curtail spread of the novel disease.
Chairman Samuel Ofosu Ampofo observed that, the government appears to be delighted in extraneous issues in the war to eradicate the pandemic, rather than, to provide gears for frontline health workers.
He said healthcare facilities across the country, recently took a swipe at government over their inability to access Personal Protective Equipments, (PPEs) to aid doctors and essential paramedics fight the spread of the virus.
Similarly, Mr. Samuel Ampofo chastised the Government and the officials of the Electoral Commission, for revealing in the public domain that, the Commission had acquired enough Protective gears to combat the virus and hence personnel at the EC could go ahead to undertake the impending registration exercise, ahead of the 2020 Polls, if they receive clearance from their technical advisers.
A situation he bemoaned as unfortunate and thus which belittles the quest to deal with the pandemic using a holistic means.
Ghana’s Case Now stand at 3,091 , 18 deaths, 303 recoveries per the last update on the website of the Ghana Health Service.
“how can they say Ghana have reached it peak of the disease whiles the infection rate is still rising, doctors and professionals have been neglected, amid fears of them despising involvement in the fight of the disease”
