Volta Regional Minister, Dr Archibald Letsa,has disclosed that, samples of suspected Coronavirus cases in the region that were sent for testing has proved negative.
Regional Coronavirus Response Team has therefore asked all to abide strictly by the protocols to ensure that, the scurge of the epidemic is brought under control.
The Team has also intensified its education and information sharing programmes.
Three specimen of suspected Coronavirus cases sent to the Noguchi Memorial Institute from various facilities in the Region tested negative.
Dr Lesta in an interaction with the media and officials of the Ghana Immigration Service in the region warned that any Immigration official who would compromise the set standards and professionalism for personal gains would be dealt with according to the provisions of the law..
Mr Letsa urged the Officers to also ensure their own protection by abiding by the protocols recommended by the World Health Organisation, including , maintaining social distancing, hand washing, avoid touching one’s face,and practising respiratory hygiene.
He urged the media to update the people on the scourge of the pandemic from creditable sources, so as not to deepen any form of fear.
