The minority in Parliament has called on the government to make accessible the $100million it announced to fight against the convid-19 pandemic in the country, so it doesn’t divert is to activities that would not benefit the nation as a whole
President Nana Addo Dunkwah Akufo-Addo in a address to the nation last night said he had directed the Minister of Finance, Ken Ofori Atta to make available the cedi equivalent of a 100 million Dollars to enhance Ghana’s coronavirus preparedness and response plan.
This amount according to the President is to fund activities and the expansion of infrastructure, purchase of materials and equipments and public education on the deadly coronavirus,
which the World Health organization(WHO) has declared as a pandemic.
The Minority Spokesperson on Health who is also the Member of Parliament for Juaboso in the Western Region is saying Ghanaians needs to see physical actions rather than a mere announcement of measures the government is adopting to fight the pandemic.
MP for Ningo-Prampram Hon. Sam Nartey George wants government to provide details on the 100million dollars allocated as part of measures to fight the deadly coronavirus which is fast spreading across the world.
