Tax incentives and waivers to multinational organisations needs to be substantially reviewed to prevent its politicization and abused to favour to cronies.
The tax waiver if not reviewed as is currently is, would negatively impact on the country’s long term development.
President Akufi-Addo in 2018 noted that, the country loses GHC 4 billion revenue, hence the need to review the whole process.
The MP for Asawase, in the Ashanti region, Muntaka Mubarak has also called on Parliament as a matter of urgency to set up a Special Committee to streamline the granting of tax waivers and exemptions to prevent its abuse.
The House just granted a GHC 41 million tax waivers to four entities including State Transport Corporation, Metro Mass Transport, Ghana Immigration Service among others.
