The Roads and Highways Ministry has lambasted institutions within the roads and transport sector for not fully enforcing the rules and regulations that would ensure road safety.
The Ministry is unhappy of the wanton rate of perished lives on our roads and the maiming of others bread winners.
Research indicates that majority of road traffic fatalities {61.25%) and injuries of {52.3%{ occurres on roads in rural areas .
About 58% more people died on our roads in rural areas than in the urban areas, and most of the rural accidents are more severe.
The Sector Minister, Kwesi Amoako-Atta believes if the various institutions do not sleep over their responsibilities, the roads would be safer.
The nation has recorded the deaths of over 393 lives since the beginning of the year, which can be worrying to the nation’s human resources.
