Govt swerves Menzgold – Customers vow to Vote Against Prez Addo

President Akufo Addo whilst delivering his State of the Nations Address on the floor of Parliament last Thursday made a categorical statement that, an allocation of Gh¢5 billion, have been earmarked and released  to pay customers of defunct DKM microfinance, including clients of collapsed micro finances who lost their deposits through the financial sector melt down, and mismanagement of their deposits by fund managers years ago.

The announcement hitherto sparked wild jubilation among many customers of expired banks and microfinance companies who out of excitements and Ecstasy revealed that, their struggles and worsening economic plights had come to an end in view of the directive by the President during the SONA.

But speaking on ahotor fm magazine morning programme aired every week day, dubbed Adekye Mu Nsem, the Founder and Leader for the  Agrieved Customers of Menzgold , Fredrick Forson, made a shocking revelation that, they have picked intelligence which suggested that, Menzgold customers are not inclusive in the list of beneficiaries in the Gh¢ 5 allocation provided by government to offset the debts owed them by fund managers, to which gold dealership firm, Menzgold is inclusive respectively.

Mr. Forson noted and quizzed why President Nana Addo will despised and isolate Menzgold customers from the payment process. He said government has downplayed the numerical supremacy of Menzgold clients, and this does not auger well with their members, since majority of them have become debt stricken, whiles others are dead, all in the struggle to retrieve their investments.

“Ever since our members had their lock up monies trapped in Menzgold, many of them have died, and others rendered as paupers” He noted!

Meanwhile, Mr. Forson stressed that, he will be surprise if the status cuo remain and government does not find it plausible to include them in the payment module.

He further warns of dire consequences against President Nana Addo in the December Polls, should the government fail to do the needful.

The Akufo Addo led government set Monday 24th February , 2020 to begin payment of customers of DKM, as well as some collapsed savings and loans company, who have their investments blacklisted during the heat of the financial sector clean up by the Bank of Ghana.
