Former National Deputy Treasurer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and current National Director of Welfare, Hon. Vida Addae, has declared her intention to contest for the position of National Vice Chairperson, citing her experience, commitment to party unity, and grassroots mobilisation as key pillars of her ambition.
Hon. Addae said her decision followed years of dedicated service to the party, extensive consultations with members, and a strong desire to strengthen the NDC’s organisational structures ahead of the 2028 general elections.
She commended the entire NDC fraternity for its resilience, dedication, and commitment in successfully completing the constituency-level elections, describing the process as an important step in the party’s internal reorganisation.
According to her, the party must now focus on consolidating its gains, strengthening its structures, and building a united front to support President John Dramani Mahama and prepare for the next electoral contest.
Hon. Addae noted that her vision reflects the aspirations of many grassroots members, with whom she has worked across various levels of the party’s organisational structures.
She called on party members and comrades to demonstrate love, solidarity, and mutual respect, urging them to place the collective interest of the NDC above individual ambitions.
She further cautioned against internal conflicts and unnecessary disturbances that could undermine the party’s internal democracy, peace, and stability.
“The party is supreme, and we must all work together to protect its unity and strengthen its structures,” she emphasised.
Hon. Addae appealed to delegates and party faithful to support her bid for National Vice Chairperson, pledging to provide effective leadership anchored in integrity, dedication, teamwork, and hard work.
She expressed confidence that, with collective commitment and cooperation, the NDC could strengthen its grassroots base, promote internal cohesion, and position itself for the challenges ahead.
As the party prepares for its national delegates’ congress, Hon. Addae said she stands ready to serve with commitment and a shared sense of purpose, calling on members to rally behind a common vision of unity, organisational development, and electoral success.
