Ghanaian defender Fard Ibrahim is rapidly establishing himself as a reliable presence in Israel’s Ligat ha’Al with newly promoted Hapoel Ramat Gan.

The 26-year-old left-back, born on 7 January 2000 in Accra, has started five of the side’s early league fixtures this season, cementing his status as a regular in the starting XI. Standing at 1.84m and left-footed, Ibrahim primarily operates as a left-back but has shown versatility as a lateral midfielder and occasional centre-back. His physicality, composure on the ball, and defensive reliability have helped him adapt quickly to the demands of Israel’s top flight.
Hapoel Ramat Gan signed Ibrahim on a free transfer from Kazakh club Irtysh Pavlodar in early July 2026 on a deal running until 30 June 2027. The move came after a short four-to-five-month spell in Kazakhstan, during which he featured regularly.
The Israeli club, returning to the Premier League, identified the Ghanaian as a key reinforcement for the left side of defence and welcomed him into training, noting his availability for competitive action shortly after arrival.
Ibrahim’s path reflects a steady rise through Ghanaian and European football. He came through the ranks at Inter Allies via Cedar Stars Academy, making his Ghana Premier League debut as a teenager in 2017 and becoming a regular.
In 2018–19 he spent time on loan at Danish side Vejle Boldklub, gaining experience in the youth and reserve setups with limited first-team exposure. After returning to Inter Allies, he moved to Belarus in 2022, joining Isloch Minsk Raion, where he accumulated significant minutes over multiple seasons and scored a couple of goals.
A subsequent move to bigger Belarusian club Dinamo Minsk in 2025 brought further top-flight experience, including European competition appearances and at least one goal, before the short stint in Kazakhstan and the current chapter in Israel.
Across his career he has logged well over 100 senior appearances, with the bulk coming in competitive leagues in Ghana, Belarus, Kazakhstan, and now Israel. Market valuations have hovered in the €190k–€260k range in recent assessments.
A former Ghana U20 international, Ibrahim featured for the Black Satellites in the 2019 Africa U-20 Cup of Nations period. He has repeatedly expressed readiness for a senior Black Stars call-up.
While he has not yet received a senior invitation amid competition in the defensive ranks, his consistent starts in a competitive European league position him as a player worth monitoring for national team consideration, especially given the value of regular minutes and versatility.
In the 2026/27 Ligat ha’Al campaign, Ibrahim has been a near-constant presence in the starting lineup for the promoted side. Match data from the opening fixtures shows him completing the majority of available minutes, often 90 or close to it, contributing defensively with tackles, interceptions, and progressive passing while maintaining clean disciplinary records in several outings.
Hapoel Ramat Gan have found the top-flight transition challenging, sitting toward the lower end of the table after the early rounds with a limited points haul, but Ibrahim’s reliability on the left flank has been one of the steadier elements.
Average performance ratings in the mid-to-high 6s reflect solid, workmanlike contributions rather than standout individual brilliance so far. His ability to operate as a lateral midfielder adds tactical flexibility, allowing coaches to adjust shape without disrupting the defensive structure.
Physical strength and left-footed delivery from deep or wide areas remain core attributes that suit both traditional full-back and more advanced wing-back roles.
At 26, Ibrahim is entering what should be his prime years. Securing regular starts in Ligat ha’Al after stops in Belarus and Kazakhstan represents continued progress in his expatriate career.
Consistent performances could raise his profile further, potentially opening doors to stronger leagues or a long-awaited senior Ghana call-up. For Hapoel Ramat Gan, his experience and dependability offer a foundation as the club battles to establish itself in the top flight.
