Ghana Premier League Matchday 4 (26–27 September 2026) featured upsets for two traditional giants and a statement win for the defending champions.
Hearts of Oak’s unbeaten start ended in Tamale as Karela United won 1-0. Mohammed Zaidan scored the winner in the 88th minute after a tight contest in which Hearts goalkeeper Sharif Shuaib (standing in for Benjamin Asare) made several key saves. The Phobians had two wins and a draw from their first three games.
Asante Kotoko suffered their first defeat of the season, falling 0-2 at home to 10-man Aduana FC at the Baba Yara Stadium. Stephen Amankona opened the scoring in the 7th minute after a goalkeeper error by Ibrahim Danlad.
Raymond Agyemang was sent off late in the first half (second yellow around the 42nd minute). Kotoko dominated after the break but could not equalize; Seidu Saana sealed the win on the counter in the 90+6th minute.
Defending champions Medeama SC claimed their first win of the campaign with a 4-1 victory over Basake Holy Stars in Tarkwa. Patrick Ocran put Holy Stars ahead in the 14th minute, but Medeama exploded before half-time: Prince Owusu (26’), Emmanuel Annor (27’), Kelvin Nkrumah (30’), and Kingsley Braye completed a four-goal blitz.
