The Executive Chairman of Sentuo Group has reaffirmed the company’s confidence in Ghana’s economy, saying the Sentuo Airport Garden City project at Airport City, Accra, is expected to create about 3,000 jobs and generate opportunities for Ghanaian workers, businesses and communities.
He made the remarks during the ceremonial sod-cutting and project unveiling of Sentuo Airport Garden City on Tuesday, September 15, 2026, in Accra.
Welcoming President John Dramani Mahama, government officials, traditional authorities, members of the diplomatic corps, business partners and other distinguished guests, the Executive Chairman said the project reflects Sentuo Group’s vision of creating quality homes and a development that Ghanaians can be proud of.
He said the company understands that purchasing a home must make financial sense alongside school fees, family responsibilities and the need for households to save.
According to him, affordability should be measured by what families can sustainably afford over time.
He stressed that people who have worked hard and saved to purchase homes deserve clear pricing, understandable contracts and accurate information before committing their money.
He assured prospective buyers that the company’s sales process would clearly explain property rights, payment obligations, delivery timelines and services available after handover.
He added that buyers would have the opportunity to examine all relevant documents and seek independent professional advice before making financial commitments.
The Executive Chairman also extended a warm invitation to foreigners working and living in Ghana, as well as Ghanaians in the diaspora, to consider Sentuo Airport Garden City as a place to establish a home and maintain a lasting connection with Ghana.
He said the sales office has officially commenced operations and prospective buyers can meet the sales team, examine the development plans, ask questions and discuss housing options that fit their circumstances.
He encouraged potential homeowners to make informed decisions after fully understanding what they are purchasing.
Ghanaian Culture and Tourism
The Executive Chairman said Sentuo Airport Garden City would incorporate Ghanaian cultural elements into its development, particularly through landscaping, art, interior design, local food and hospitality.
He said the vision is to create an environment where residents and visitors can experience Ghanaian culture while enjoying modern urban living.
He described the project as one that could become a recognizable symbol of Accra and a tourism destination within the Airport City area.
According to him, visitors should be encouraged to use the development as a gateway to explore Accra and other parts of Ghana, including its communities, cultural sites and natural attractions.
He said the project is intended to connect the airport gateway with the life, character and identity of Accra.
Five-Star Hotel and International Conferences
The Executive Chairman disclosed that Sentuo Airport Garden City will include a five-star hotel, conference facilities capable of hosting between 2,000 and 3,000 people, and about 30 presidential suites.
He said the facilities could position Ghana to host major international conferences involving heads of state, senior government officials, business leaders and other distinguished international guests.
He explained that the development is not only about residential accommodation but also about creating an integrated community where housing, hospitality, healthcare, shopping, gardens, recreation and conference facilities operate together.
According to him, the integration of these facilities will make life more convenient for residents, support businesses and provide visitors with more reasons to stay longer and experience Ghana.
Commitment to Ghanaian Jobs
The Executive Chairman gave a firm assurance that the majority of workers involved in the project would be Ghanaians.
He said the commitment would guide the company’s recruitment and training programmes as well as the expectations placed on contractors working on the project.
He said opportunities would be created for Ghanaian artisans, technicians, engineers, hospitality professionals and managers.
He further disclosed plans for apprenticeship and skills-training programmes to give young people a pathway into technical jobs and long-term career development.
He said the project is expected to create about 3,000 employment opportunities, adding that its success should be measured not only by the buildings constructed but also by the lives and businesses that benefit from the development.
The Executive Chairman said Sentuo Group’s confidence in Ghana has been built through years of investment and partnerships with Ghanaian employees, entrepreneurs and institutions.
He cited the company’s investments in the steel, ceramics and oil refining sectors, saying those investments have demonstrated the value of patient investment and strong local partnerships.
He said Sentuo’s steel operations in Tema support builders and engineers with construction materials, while its ceramics business supplies materials for homes and workplaces.
He also highlighted the company’s refinery investment, saying it is contributing to Ghana’s capacity to refine crude oil locally and retain more value within the Ghanaian economy.
Support for Local Businesses
The Executive Chairman recalled President Mahama’s visit in June to the company’s refinery during the sod-cutting ceremony for the second phase of the project.
He said the President’s vision of an economy that creates more value within Ghana has encouraged private investors to undertake projects that create jobs and opportunities.
He described Sentuo Airport Garden City as part of the company’s response to that challenge.
He said the company’s progress should be reflected in jobs for Ghanaians, contracts for local businesses, skills development and quality homes delivered to families.
He expressed appreciation to Sentuo Group employees, business partners, contractors, host communities and Ghanaians for contributing to the project.
He said Sentuo Group accepts the responsibility ahead and is committed to delivering a development worthy of the people it will serve.
The Executive Chairman expressed the hope that young Ghanaians would one day look at the development and proudly say, “I helped build that,” while families who move into their homes would be able to say, “We are home.”
He said the company’s confidence in Ghana would ultimately be measured by the tangible results it delivers.
