Aspiring deputy national women organiser of the main opposition National Democratic Congress, Madam Araba Tagoe has remarked on ahotor FM on Monday that, she is the solution and in Pole position, to revive the women’s front in the National Democratic Congress if the party delegates elect her to lead the NDC, as the deputy national women organiser for the general Polls in 2020.
Madam Araba Tagoe who is popularly called ‘Obaatampa’ Araba Tagoe , earned the accolade “Obaatampa” due to her philanthropic gestures and benevolence for the NDC fraternity. She retorted to the effect that, she has been a long serving patron in the party in diverse ways and playing host to different leadership roles in the women’s unit and also at the periphery of the region and beyond.
The vociferous and maverick, aspiring national deputy women organiser opined to the host of the program, Onantefour Addae Mununkum that she finds it pitiful that, certain elements within the corridors of the party who are unaware and privy to her inputs and track records as the western regional women’s organiser, a position she has held for over sixteen years. She revealed that a section of her contenders are scheming to thwart her chances and interest to become, the deputy national women’s organiser of the party. Moreover, she allayed the fears by her supporters and said that any machinations against her intentions will not work.
The woman who many believed to be highly influential and very iconic of the party in the western region, is known for the several local and executive portfolios, at the constituency, participated in both by – elections as well as results oriented street protests within and outside the region, and had also passed through the party in various quarter’s, and capacities within the women’s caucus, and also as a leading member of the party at the region in record time.
She asserted by alluding in a captured actual that ” People are going round and engaging in smear campaign about me ,but they have forgotten how I have suffered for this party from 1992 till date”
In a similar vain, she noted and stated as “I’m not in the race to amass wealth at the expense of the electorates but my focus is geared towards ensuring victory for the party”
Obaatampa Araba Tagoe, further inclined that, the allegations being circulated and contrived by her opponents to the fact that she is too weak and unprolific, smacks of failure on the part of such persons to appreciate what she has done for the party in the past and in recent times.
She assured the delegates that she will work in their collective interest and also protect the sanctity of party in the likely event that she is elected as the deputy national women organiser for the NDC, at the November 3, Congress.
Araba Tagoe aver she is ready to battle the New Patriotic Party, and also lead the NDC at the national deputy women’s wing before and after the 2020 elections. She further posited that :
” I fear only God in Politics, and not any other person”
Madam Araba Tagoe, appealed to delegates as well as the rank and file of the party to consider her candidature since she is been baked and groomed by seasoned echelons in the party such as : Mr. Totobi Kwarkye amongst others. Madam Tagoe again intimated that she is resourceful and prepared enough to rejuvenate the party at the grassroots, and the floating voters for the 2020 general elections, if she is giving the nod in that regard.
On the sidelines of happening in the country, under the Akufo Addo – Dr. Bawumia led government; madam Araba Tagoe bemoaned hardships and abject poverty in the economy and fumed that ;
” Western region is hard” !
“Students are crying”!
“Come down Nana”!
She lamented and jibed the NPP administration in the most profuse manner for the unbridled and untold hardship that have been unleashed unto the good people of Ghana.
