There is an uneasy calm at the Ministry of Health, where the substantive Media Relations Officer, Mr. Robert Cudjoe is on collision turf war with officialdom and has subsequently rubbished and refuted reports that, he has been reassigned to the Information Services Department (ISD), to pick up a new role.
The Ministry of health through its acting chief Director, Nana Kwabena Adjei Mensah served a Press statement to the media on Tuesday suggesting that Mr. Robert Cudjoe has been relinquished from his post as the Public Relations Officer in the Ministry of Health, and in his place Mr. Elorm Ametepe of the ISD has been scheduled to occupy Public Relations outfit.
But speaking on Radio Gold’s Morning Drive about the sidelines of postings and clearance for unemployed Nurses and Widwives in the country, in the aftermath of their nationwide protests, the embattled Media relations officer retorted, the ministry has so far given financial clearance to over 4,000 plus nurses and midwives and more are expected to go through similar process before the end of 2018.
Mr. Cudjoe, who sounded so bitter and engrossed with happenings in the ministry bemoaned the saddened turn of event in the ministry’s public relations department, and described the entire move as a mere power play and pedestrian.
He aver that ” they know I speak the truth, and why should I say the untruth when I know I have to say the truth in the ministry” He told the host of the program, Samuel Eshun on Wednesday morning.
He took a swipe at some faceless individuals at the ministry who are scheming to clandestinely revert him to the Information Service Department, for reasons best known to them.
Mr. Cudjoe avowed he has discharged his role as PRO in the health ministry, with apt and distinction, and expressed shocked by the recent unfolding development.
He remarked and explained the processes he went through prior to his appointment as lead spokesman for the health ministry by the Information service Ddepartment.
The beleaguered PRO, further fumed and queried why some politicians and echelons in political parties would want the public to know they call the shot, and can manipulate the system to suit their whimps and Caprices.
A disturbed, Robert Cudjoe lamented he is still at post and forever remain the official spokeman in the ministry pending any formal introductory letter by a recognized outfit to that effect.
He cautioned and adviced politicians and civil servants to work collectively in the public interest and desist from sabotaging each other for undue favor, and their parochial self aggrandizement.
He stated “am going to bath and come to the office”
“Why won’t they allow a simple common public servant to do his work in peace and not in pieces”
“If I have done nothing wrong deserving of hanging , nobody can hang me”
“Is only God who can hang me”
“When I speak as PRO I also advise and if somebody is not happy that their own cup of tea”
He added!
He vociferously denied claims of being reassigned and told the media to disregard such empty letter in circulation.
