GES releases harmonised prospectus for 2026/2027 SHS admissions

The Ghana Education Service (GES) has released the National Harmonised Prospectus for students who will be enrolled in Senior High Schools (SHSs) for the 2026/2027 academic year.

The prospectus covers requirements for both boarding and day students, and is intended to guide parents, guardians and prospective students on the essential items needed for enrolment.

In a statement issued on Thursday, September 3, 2026, and signed by the Head of Public Relations, Daniel Fenyi, the GES urged parents and students preparing to enter Senior High School to carefully review the prospectus and make the necessary preparations ahead of the new academic year.

The Service also directed schools and other stakeholders to strictly comply with the requirements outlined in the prospectus to ensure a smooth and standardised admission process across the country.

According to the GES, releasing the prospectus ahead of the school placement exercise is aimed at giving parents and students adequate time to prepare the items required for enrolment and ensure that fresh students are properly equipped before reporting to school.

The GES has therefore urged the public, particularly parents, guardians and prospective SHS students, to take note of the requirements and prepare accordingly.
