Dr. Tengol K. Kplemani Appointed Global Ambassador for Culture, Heritage & Royal Diplomacy

The African Tourism Board (ATB) has appointed Dr. Tengol K. Kplemani as its new Global Ambassador in the Office of Culture, Heritage & Royal Diplomacy, in recognition of his leadership, dedication to continental advancement and commitment to promoting African culture and heritage.

The appointment, dated August 26, 2026, was formally issued by ATB Executive Chairman Hon. Cuthbert Simphiwe Ncube. Dr. Kplemani subsequently accepted the appointment on August 27, 2026.

In his new role, Dr. Kplemani will serve as a global envoy for the African Tourism Board, helping to connect Africa’s cultural traditions, royal institutions and international heritage networks.

His work will focus on using Africa’s rich cultural heritage as an important part of tourism and cultural diplomacy, while helping to strengthen international relationships and promote the continent’s cultural identity on the global stage.

The African Tourism Board described the appointment as a reflection of its confidence in Dr. Kplemani’s integrity, diplomatic stature and commitment to preserving and promoting African culture and royal heritage.

Welcoming him into the ATB family, the organisation’s Chief Executive Officer, Ramy Waheed, said Dr. Kplemani’s appointment would support efforts to strengthen relationships among cultural traditions, royal institutions and international heritage networks.

The appointment further positions Dr. Kplemani to contribute to the promotion of Africa’s tourism, culture and heritage beyond the continent, as the African Tourism Board continues its efforts to showcase Africa’s diverse cultural wealth to the world.
