I will beat Mahama to lead the NDC in 2020- Alabi

The retired Vice-Chancellor of the University of Professional Studies (UPSA), the leading member and presidential hopeful of National Democratic Congress (NDC), Professor Joshua Alabi in a studio interview on Radio 1 FM’s morning show on Thursday 10th May, 2018 has stated his readiness to lead his party in the 2020 election.

“One major thing that has inspired me to assume the higher office of the land is the eagerness of our people to always make things work in difficult moments. I have decided to devote myself to help raise the developmental level of the citizenry and affect the ordinary lives” He stated.

On the side line about the presidential race of the NDC, he revealed his readiness to beat the former president john Dramani Mahama if he decides to contest in the upcoming interparty contest. He further reiterated that his major vision for the country is to restore all the deficits in the educational sector in our society

About the lunch of the NPP government’s program by president Akufo -Addo, The Nation Builder Corps (NABCO), Mr. Alabi said although the program is good the government should do wilder consultation to bring on board youths that are not professionals and graduates. This he believes will go a long way to cut down massively the unemployment situation in the country.

The academician touched on various issues of National character such as the government position in gays and lesbians (LGBTs), the anger which surrounded the Ghana US defense deal among others.

Professor Alabi called for an open contest for all aspirants who will want to lead the NDC in the 2020 election.

“I also despise the situation where the processes will be tilted towards one favorable contestant or candidate”.

He also called on all registered members of the party to vote massively for him.

He concluded by asking the president, Nana Akufo-Addo and his administration  to come clear and defend  issues which affect the moral fibre in the society and further urged him to take cue from his predecessors.
