Actor and politician John Dumelo has taken another step towards improving education in his constituency after cutting the sod for the construction of a new Senior High School (SHS) in Ayawaso West Wuogon.
The actor-turned-politician announced that the project will be fully funded by a group of friends and himself, with several corporate bodies also joining the initiative through donations.
According to Dumelo, companies and individuals have already begun contributing essential building materials, including sand, cement, stones and iron rods, alongside cash donations to support the project.
Sharing news of the development, Dumelo expressed optimism that the school would be completed within nine months, God willing.
“It is my hope this project will be completed in 9 months. Insha Allah,” he said.
The project has attracted attention because of its community-focused approach, with Dumelo relying not only on his personal resources and friends but also on support from corporate organisations and other well-meaning individuals.
The new SHS is expected to provide additional educational infrastructure for residents of Ayawaso West Wuogon and contribute to creating more opportunities for young people in the constituency.
Dumelo, who has combined his entertainment career with public service, continues to use his platform to highlight development initiatives in his constituency.
As construction gets underway, residents and supporters will now be watching closely to see the project progress towards the targeted nine-month completion period.
