Controversial Counselor, George Cyril Lutterodt has added his voice to the numbers who have expressed disappointment over Moesha Boduong’s utterances in an interview on CNN, describing her comments as an embarrassment to the nation.
Moesha Boduong in an interview on CNN’s Amanpour show revealed that the state of the Ghanaian economy pushed individuals to rely on men for financial support adding that, women were largely victims of the harsh economic system because making a few cedis in Ghana was an almost impossible situation.
“Ghana our economy is such that you just need someone to take care of you because you can’t make enough money as a woman here. When you want to get an apartment, in Ghana you pay two years in advance and I just started working, where will I get the money,” she said.
The interviewer, Christiane Amanpour was visibly surprised by this revelation and asked if Miss Boduong was having sex with a man primarily to pay for her rent, to which she responded in the affirmative.
She added that in exchange for the money she receives from her lover/benefactor, she is expected to stay loyal to him and yield to his sexual desires whenever he demands.
“He can afford to take care of you. He takes care of me, my financial stuff, my apartment, my car, my rent, everything. He expects me to be loyal and just to date him only and give him sex when he wants. You can’t say no. You have to give him what he wants otherwise he is going to think you are cheating on him,” she explained.
These confessions outraged a large number of the Ghanaian populace and resulted in a barrage of insults and criticisms unleashed on actress.
In response to this development, Counsellor Lutterodt described the ‘Cocoa Brown’ actress as a prostitute who through her deeds, has brought shame upon the whole nation.
“Moesha has been fair, she has been firm and she has been polite that she is a prostitute. Moesha Boduong has brought shame to us, but she is a defined prostitute who has told us what her prostitution can acquire for her, “he said.
He went ahead to explain in his view what prostitution is and instances where a woman could likely be practising prostitution.
“If a man will have you and send you mobile money for transport, you are equally a prostitute because prostitution is sex in exchange on gifts, money, presents, credits, car, house etc. Your man will have you in his house, he will have sexual intercourse with you and pick an Uber for you. You are equally a prostitute,” he explained.
He advised that life was not only about riches and living above one’s means.
“The moral lesson is that, how are we raising our daughters? For now, pick up your lessons, your life is not just about what you earn, drive a car out of your means, own a car out of your means, wear expensive dress through prostitution, is that what you are going for? Let’s allow those who are working hard to work hard but if you want to stop ‘ashawo’ (prostitution), then keep yourselves intact and keep your legs closed,” he noted.
