An emerging and disturbing development from the NDC has it that, some machomen purported to be affiliated to the governing new Patriotic Party have brutally assaulted Hon. Eric Opoku (MP) and aides, in the Asunafo South constituency of the Brong Ahafo region on Saturday 31st March, 2018
It unclear what might have occasioned such barbaric brutality which was unleashed by some supporters of the NPP Saturday night.
Sources close Hon. Opoku told ahotoronline.com that the mp and his boys were attacked without any provocations or whatsoever at the MP’s residence on Saturday night.
Available reports still looks scanty on what triggered the said standoff among the various feuding factions.
The Brong Ahafo region is among the numerous flash prone and acrimonious areas in the country where tensions and adrenaline in political activities are high and gruesome.
With the region recording quite appreciable number of casualties in political personality clashes during each electioneering season.
The victims of last night’s fatalities have since been admitted at the hospitals in the region and are steadily responding to treatment.
We were unsuccessful as we tried to established contact with the MP to update us on what ignited such impasse, but proved futile.
The regional police command in the area has since taken charge of the situation and carrying on with painstaking investigations therein.
