I feel sorry for Eugene Arhin – Koku Anyidoho

Deputy General Secretary of the NDC, Koku Anyidoho says he feels sorry for Nana Addo’s Director of communication at the Presidency, Eugene Arhin.

According to Koku Anyidoho, Eugene Arhin doesn’t have the clout as a Director of communications and does nothing at the Presidency, except that he is just being used as a tool by his superiors including Gabby Otchere Darko.

President Akufo Addo after he massively won the 2016 elections, ahead of his swearing-in, appointed Eugene Arhin as Director of Communications at the Presidency and Nana Bediatuo Asante as his Executive Secretary.

Speaking to Kwabena Kyenkyenhene Boateng on ’21 minutes with KKB’, Koku Anyidoho stated that Eugene Arhin has not impressed him like he expected because almost all Press Statement that comes from his quarters are mostly ridden with grammatical errors.

“He keeps putting out releases full of grammatical errors, every release that comes out has to go back and be represented”.

He also fumed that even the Information Minister, Mustapha Hamid is worse than Eugene Arhin, saying his way of communicating appears to him as someone who is deliberately misconducting himself or one who lacks the dexterity to occupy the office as a Spokesperson for the President.

“As for the Information Minister, Mustapha Hamid he’s even worse…. either he’s deliberately misconducting himself to make the President and the government look bad or he just doesn’t know what he’s about”.

Koku Anyidoho’s comments come on the back of a statement signed by Mustapha Hamid explaining how compensation packages were paid to the squatters and traders within the environs of Akufo-Addo’s residence.

In a statement signed by Mustapha Hamid, he said compensation packages which were between GHC3,000 to GHC10,000 paid to squatters residing around the private residence of the President at Nima were provided from the President’s own pocket.

“In view of the security implications of the operations of the traders, and artisans, national security proceeded to engage with them, and compensation packages of varied sums were agreed on. President Akufo-Addo has taken the view that the national purse must not be burdened on a matter such as this and has gone on to pay these compensations from his personal resources.”

Koku Anyidoho questioned where the President got his money from to pay the squatters and called on the Special Prosecutor, Martin Amidu to investigate the President with regards to the huge sums paid to squatters.

In a teasing mood, Koku Anyidoho said, “Mustapha Hamid comes out to say well it is the people themselves who went to see the President and then said that president we beg you sack us. I mean it’s ridiculous, Mustapha Hamid please!”
