Samuel Ofosu Ampofo, the Vice Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) has advice the government to solve the country’s insecurity and stop the rhetoric.
Speaking on Ahotor FM’s morning show on Thursday, March 1 with host Onantefour Addae Mununkum the vice chairman further stated that the current state of insecurity in the country is disturbing and must be tackled at all fronts. He also stated that the armed men who are indulged in these criminalities are trained and use surfisicated weapons which are worrying.
“They are people who know what they are about and are well skilled at what they do” he stated.
He advised the government to come up with a security forum that will speak on how to solve the insecurity the country is facing now.
“The visibility study structure that was put up by the former IGP Alhaji Alhasan has been abandoned. This was a good measure that increased the security in the cities. I believe security issues are not partisan and should be tackled to the core, we need to indulge past security expect on the way forward, we live in a dangerous time and one may not know the one who will be the final target” he stated.
The vice chairman advised the Ghana police service’s public relations outfit to take precautionary measure by using the media as a tool in educating the citizenry on personal security in the wake of current killings and robbery in the country.
“Use the radio stations to educate the citizenry on simple security tips”, he concluded
Two cases of daylight robbery have been recorded with the last one happening Wednesday.
A Lebanese man who had gone to the bank to withdraw a sum of GH¢200,000 was robbed and shot dead in the Tema metropolis while on the way to his company to pay salaries of workers.
Tuesday, armed robbers stormed the North Industrial Area office of Royal Motors and made away with an undisclosed amount of money after altercations.
