Member of Parliament for Tema East, Daniel Nii Kwartei Titus-Glover has called on the Greater Accra regional Minister, Ismael Ashitey, to desist from working against his ambition of securing a third term in parliament.
According to Mr Glover, Mr Ashitey who is a former Greater Accra Regional Chairman of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) has over the years worked against his political ambitions for no reason in support of one Benjamin Ashitey who contested against Mr Glover in the NPP’s primaries ahead of the 2016 elections.
Mr Glover stated on Thursday, 1 March 2018 that: “I don’t know what I’ve done to Mr Ismael Ashitey, he has disliked me for the past 15 years for no reason, even when I was an assemblyman.
“In 2008 he disqualified me from contesting to become the parliamentary candidate because my ID card was black and white. This was a flimsy excuse, however, I accepted it in good faith.
“He is still working against my ambition of securing a third term in parliament in favour of one Benjamin Ashitey but let me assure him that he is not God, it is only God who can stop me not humans. His actions won’t stop me at all.”
Meanwhile, Benjamin Ashitey has denied the accusation that the Greater Accra Regional Minister is working against Mr Glover in his favour.
Speaking on the show he said: “Titus Glover is peddling palpable falsehood.
“He is jittering and so he has resorted to all manner of tactics to tarnish people’s image. He is behaving like a frustrated babysitter with his actions.
“Nobody is working against him and so he should stop peddling that falsehood.
