Kenneth Kanor Leads Development Drive Across Ada East District

The Ada East District Assembly has intensified efforts to improve education, infrastructure and socio-economic development across the district under the leadership of District Chief Executive (DCE), Hon. Kenneth Kabu Kofi Kanor.

According to the DCE, the Assembly is implementing a series of development projects aimed at enhancing the quality of life of residents while addressing critical challenges in education, healthcare, sanitation, roads and other essential sectors.

Speaking on the district’s development agenda, On Simpieso Political show on Ahotor 92.3 FM and hosted by Emmanuel  Martey Mr. Kanor said education remains one of the Assembly’s top priorities.

He revealed that several school infrastructure projects are currently underway to improve teaching and learning conditions in communities across the district.

The projects, he explained, form part of a broader strategy to address longstanding infrastructural deficiencies affecting schools, including overcrowded classrooms, leaking roofs, inadequate furniture and poor learning environments.

“Many schools within the district face serious infrastructural challenges that negatively impact teaching and learning. We are therefore investing in the construction and rehabilitation of educational facilities to create a more conducive environment for both students and teachers,” he said.

Mr. Kanor noted that the ongoing projects are expected to provide safer and more comfortable learning spaces, improve academic performance and encourage higher school enrollment and attendance rates among children.

He emphasized that investing in quality educational infrastructure is essential for preparing the younger generation for future opportunities and ensuring equitable access to quality education across both urban and rural communities.

Beyond education, the DCE highlighted a range of interventions being implemented in other critical sectors of the local economy. These include improvements in healthcare delivery, road infrastructure, sanitation services, agriculture and social welfare programmes.

According to him, the Assembly remains committed to promoting balanced and inclusive development by responding to the pressing needs of communities throughout the district.

Under Mr. Kanor’s leadership, the Assembly has also focused on strengthening local governance, empowering young people, supporting small businesses and unlocking the district’s economic potential through agriculture, fishing, tourism and entrepreneurship initiatives.

The DCE said collaboration with traditional authorities, development partners, government agencies and local stakeholders has played a key role in advancing the district’s development agenda.

While acknowledging challenges such as infrastructure deficits, environmental concerns and youth unemployment, he expressed confidence that strategic planning and community participation would help address these issues and sustain the district’s growth.

As development projects continue across the district, residents and stakeholders are expected to closely monitor their impact on improving living standards and advancing the socio-economic transformation of Ada East.
