Three persons believed to be from the same family were killed when the vehicle on which they were travelling was involved in an accident at Okanta number 1, an outskirt of Nsawam Tuesday afternoon.
The three were travelling from Accra to Kumasi to attend a relative’s funeral when their Toyota Hiace bus with registration number GN 5664-17 collided with a VVIP bus.
The Kumasi to Accra bound VVIP bus with registration number GT 6417-10 hit the driver’s side of the Toyota Hiace after it overtook another vehicle.This is the second accident in less than a week an accident has occurred on the same stretch.
In the first accident, ten persons were killed when a cargo truck crashed into a VIP at Teacher Mante.
Nana Osei Marfo, a journalist in the area reports that several other passengers onboard the VVIP bus sustained various degrees of injuries and are receiving treatment at the Nsawam Government Hospital.
Police officers and NADMO officials from Nsawam District command were at the scene to help rescue victims.
