The Ghana Education Service (GES) has released the academic calendar for Senior High Schools (SHSs) and Senior High Technical Schools (SHTSs) for the 2026/2027 academic year.
According to a statement issued by the Service on June 1, 2026, Form One and Form Two students in single-track schools are expected to reopen on September 18, 2026, for the commencement of the first semester.
The first semester will end on January 29, 2027, after which students will proceed on vacation from January 30 to March 29, 2027.
GES indicated that the second semester will begin on March 30, 2027, and conclude on July 30, 2027.
For Form Three students in single-track schools, the first semester will run from September 18, 2026, to December 18, 2026. Following their vacation, they are expected to resume on February 1, 2027, and complete the academic year on June 18, 2027.
The Ghana Education Service has urged parents, teachers, students, and school authorities to strictly adhere to the approved academic calendar to ensure a smooth and successful academic year.
