Tema West MCE Joins Muslims for Eid-ul-Adha Celebration at Lashibi.

The Municipal Chief Executive for Tema West, Hon. Ludwig Teye Totimeh, joined Muslims in the constituency to celebrate this year’s Eid-ul-Adha festivities held at the St. James School Park at Lashibi.

The celebration brought together Muslim faithful, community leaders, and residents, including the Chief Imam of the Tema West Lashibi Central Mosque, Imam Mutawaku Iddrisu, who was also present at the event.

As part of the annual celebration, the MCE contributed towards the event and joined worshippers in prayers for peace, unity, and development in Tema West.

Speaking to Ahotor FM reporters, Hon. Totimeh said he was delighted to celebrate with his Muslim brothers and sisters, stressing that Christians and Muslims are one people working together for the progress of Tema West.

“I came here to pray for God’s blessings upon Tema West. We prayed for wisdom, togetherness, unity, and progress. Christians and Muslims are one people. We are friends and families. In Ghana, there are families where some members are Muslims and others are Christians, which shows that we are all one,” he stated.

According to him, development in Tema West cannot be achieved by Christians alone or Muslims alone, but through collective unity and cooperation among all faiths and communities.

“We cannot develop Tema West with only Christians or only Muslims. We all have to come together to develop Tema West, and that is why I came to worship with them. I may not be a Muslim, but as MCE for Tema West, I represent both Muslims and Christians and every other faith in the municipality,” he added.

The MCE also highlighted his close relationship with many Muslims in the constituency, mentioning some of his associates including Mohammed and Nuru, whom he described as brothers who have always supported him.

Addressing the youth in Tema West, Hon. Totimeh urged them to uphold good morals and avoid activities that could lead to violence or trouble.

“If the youth are able to portray good morals, they will not engage in activities that bring trouble. Listen to your elders and remember that every action has consequences. If you commit a crime, there is punishment for it,” he advised.

He further encouraged the youth to always consider whether their actions would positively impact their families and Tema West before taking decisions.

“Whatever you do, ask yourself if it is good for Tema West, good for your family, and whether it is the right path that will help your future. Stay away from trouble,” he cautioned.

Hon. Totimeh further revealed that the Tema West Municipal Assembly annually donates rams and funds to Muslim communities and electoral areas across the municipality during Eid celebrations, describing the festival as very important to the Assembly.

He concluded by wishing all Muslims and residents in Tema West a happy Eid-ul-Adha celebration.
