The Tema West Municipal Assembly, led by the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), Hon. Ludwig Teye Totimeh, in collaboration with the Municipal Road Engineer and the Greater Accra Regional Manager of the National Road Safety Authority, conducted an inspection of key road infrastructure within the municipality.
The exercise formed part of ongoing interventions aimed at addressing the increasing rate of pedestrian fatalities in the area. During the inspection, the team assessed pedestrian crossings, road signs, and rumble strips designed to reduce speeding and enhance safety for both motorists and pedestrians.

Speaking in an interview, Ing. Quist commended the MCE and the Municipal Assembly for undertaking the initiative. He stated that such proactive measures would significantly improve road safety and help reduce pedestrian knockdowns within the municipality.
Hon. Ludwig Teye Totimeh also expressed optimism that the road infrastructure interventions would contribute to curbing pedestrian accidents in the municipality and surrounding communities. He urged all road users, particularly drivers and Okada riders, to exercise caution and strictly adhere to road traffic regulations.

The MCE further advised residents to remain vigilant during the rainy season. He cautioned against building on waterways and urged persons living in flood-prone areas to relocate to safer locations to avoid potential disasters. Additionally, he encouraged residents to regularly desilt gutters in front of their homes to help prevent flooding.
