Ablakwa to sue Ahenkorah for defamation

The former deputy Education Minister Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa has stated that he will file a defamation suit against the deputy Trade Ministry Carlos Ahenkorah.

Mr. Ahenkorah launched a scathing attack on his colleague MP in the wake of the $100, 000 expats saga, calling the North Tongu MP a pathological liar and a thief.

The Deputy Trade Minster has since apologized for his actions through the media. But Mr. Ablakwa has rejected the apology, asking Mr. Ahenkorah to meet him in court with evidence to his claims.

“I want to state for the record that I have not received any apology from Mr. Ahenkorah…I have advised my lawyers to sue him to proceed with a defamation suit.

“It will be a perfect opportunity for Mr, Ahenkorah to come to the court and prove all the allegations he made.”

Mr. Ablakwa was in near fisticuffs with Mr. Ahenkora on Tuesday in Parliament after the latter crashed into the former’s interview on the expat’s extortion brouhaha.

In the middle of the interview with Starr News’ Parliamentary Correspondent, Ibrahim Alhassan, Mr. Ahenkora budged in taunting the North Tongu lawmaker describing him as pathological liar.

Narrating the incident, he stated that Mr. Ahenkora had to be restrained by his colleagues while Mr. Ablakwa was whisked away by the Member of Parliament for Tamale North Alhassan Suhuyini to avoid a full blown melee.
