The Ghana Football Association has officially signed a landmark five-year partnership agreement with X1, the premium performance beverage brand, designating it as the Official Performance Partner for both the senior national team, the Black Stars, and the Division One League Super Cup.
The collaboration, announced at a ceremony held at the GFA headquarters in Accra on Friday, April 17, 2026, combines substantial financial support with an annual supply of X1 products.
These resources are aimed at enhancing team preparation, logistics, overall player well-being, and performance standards across national and domestic levels of Ghanaian football.
GFA President Kurt Edwin Simeon-Okraku described the deal as a defining moment in the association’s ongoing efforts to transform and elevate Ghanaian football. He expressed pride and optimism about the long-term benefits it will bring to the Black Stars in their quest for success on the international stage.
For its part, X1 emphasized a vision that goes beyond traditional sponsorship, focusing on sustainable growth, motivation for the players, and broader contributions to the sport. The partnership includes commitments to grassroots development, such as the construction of multiple football pitches across the country. Black Stars players Gideon Mensah and Elisha Owusu have come on board as brand ambassadors and equity partners.
This strategic alliance is expected to provide a significant boost to both the national team and domestic competitions, helping to raise operational efficiency and competitive standards in Ghanaian football over the coming half-decade.
