Former Minister of Roads and Highways and Member of Parliament for Tamale Central Constituency, Alhaji Innusah Fuseini, has vowed to retrieve all pickup vehicles he gave to party executives for campaign activities prior to the 2016 polls.
According to him, his inability to retrieve the said vehicle puts his reputation at stake and therefore will do everything within his power to have those vehicles returned.
“I will retrieve every pickup because my reputation is at stake”, he disclosed on Tamale-based Diamond Fm.
He disclosed that owners of the vehicles who are his friends continue to harass him but executives of the party in possession of the vehicles have also refused to return them.
“The owners are following me for the pickups. I am being embarrassed and I cannot continue like this. The documents of the vehicles are not with them. What they have is just single keys”, he lamented.
Alhaji Innusah Fuseini said the vehicles are not in his name contrary to claims they were his and he was only seizing them because the Regional Youth Organiser in particular was allegedly supporting another presidential candidate.
Explaining how he got the vehicles for the party in the first place, the Tamale Central lawmaker said secured the vehicles for some members of the campaign team who are executives with the understanding that they would be returned after the elections.
This he explained, was aimed at catering for the logistical constraint that was encountered by the party prior to the 2016 polls but after the elections, persons including the Regional Youth Organiser and others deliberately refused to return their vehicles.
“I feel pained talking about this matter. I feel very very pained talking about this matter. I wish I could let this matter rest. The party prior to the 2016 elections formed a campaign coordinating team in all the regions. I was part of the campaign coordinating team; we met the first time and we all talked about logistics then the youth organizer, women’s organizer and some other people said they did not have vehicles…… well I said I will organize some vehicles for them. I spoke to one or two friends and the donated two pickups on the understanding that the vehicles will be returned after the elections”, he revealed on Tamale-based Diamond Fm.
He said he has made fruitless efforts to retrieve the vehicles and confronted the regional Campaign Coordinator; Alhaji Mohammed Muniru-Limuna who asked him to use any available means to retrieve the vehicle since he was being harassed by the owners.
