Tamale Stadium to be named after Aliu Mahama on November 16
Barring any last minute hitches, the Tamale Sports Stadium in the Northern region will be named after the late Vice President Alhaji Aliu Mahama next month.
The president announced at the Flagstaff House Monday that he will confer with the Sports minister and issue an executive instrument effecting the change by November 16, which marks the 6th anniversary of the demise of the late Vice President.
The family of the late Mahama visited the President to inform him of the impending 6th anniversary of the death of their kinsman.
The late vice president to former President John Kufuor was known for his avowed commitment and campaign against social indiscipline.
He died at the Korle Bu Teaching hospital on November 16, 2012, after serving two terms as veep under Kufuor.
