General Secretary of the main opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), Johnson Asiedu Nketia, has said President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo will not be able to stop the activities of vigilantes in the country.
According to Mr Nketia, the President, throughout his public life, has demonstrated support for thuggery and violence and cannot halt these activities currently on-going under his administration.
There have been about 20 pro-NPP vigilante attacks since the NPP won power in the December 2016 elections.
The situation has been festering despite calls on the President for the law enforcement agencies to act.
Speaking on Ekosii Sen on Monday, October 30, Mr Nketia said: “Nana Addo can’t stop vigilantism because throughout his life he has supported thuggery. He enjoys thuggery and so I am not sure he can end it.”
He added: “We told Ghanaians that Ghana will be insecure if Nana Addo was voted into office as President and it has come to pass, now we feel insecure in the country because of lawlessness.”
