JINIJINI, Ghana, 18 March: President John Dramani Mahama on Tuesday, March 18, 2026, inspected the 80-kilometre Jinijini-Sampa Road as part of his Resetting Ghana Citizen Engagement Tour of the Bono Region.

Ahead of the main citizen engagement forum scheduled for Thursday, March 19, the President took time to assess ongoing infrastructure projects across the region.

Earlier in the day, he cut the sod for the construction of a 24-Hour Economy Model Market in Dormaa Ahenkro before proceeding to Jinijini to inspect progress on the road project.

The Jinijini-Sampa stretch, spanning approximately 80 kilometres, has been awarded to Rango Construction Company and is expected to significantly improve security, road safety, and economic activity within the enclave.

When completed, the road will enhance connectivity between key communities and facilitate smoother transportation of goods and services.

Speaking during the inspection, the Drobomanhene, Okokyeredom Sakyi Ako II, who also serves as Vice President of the Bono Regional House of Chiefs, expressed gratitude to the President for prioritising the project.

He noted that the road had remained in a deplorable condition for many years, affecting movement and local commerce.
