The police has picked up a popular serial caller Frank Kwaku Appiah commonly known as ‘Appiah Stadium’ for labeling President Akufo-Addo as a “drug addict”.
‘Appiah Stadium’ has since apologized over the comment but was rounded up by the Ashanti regional police to substantiate his allegations.
The outspoken supporter of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) is currently being transferred to the Police Headquarters in Accra for further interrogation.
Meanwhile, the General Secretary of the NDC Asiedu Nketia has questioned the basis of the apology.
“Akufo-Addo has not cleared himself after Wikileaks said he smokes wee so I believe it,” Mr. Nketia said on Adom FM’s Dwaso Nsem.
“The NPP repealed the Criminal Libel Law so everyone is at liberty to speak his mind and make any allegation against anyone so Appiah Stadium has not done anything wrong to warrant an invitation from the National Security,” he added.
He has advised Akufo-Addo to clear his name in court.
