Political Parties should come clear on societal ills and Homosexuality- Rev. Wengam

The former Board Chairman of the Ghana Prisons Service and the Lead pastor of the Cedar Mountain Assemblies of God Church, Rev. Stephen Wengam has challenged political parties to categorically state their stands on moral decadence and homosexuality before their are voted to power.

In a telephone interview with the Ahotor FM’s morning show hosted by Emmanuel Quarshie (Hit man) on Monday, 4th September, 2017,

He called on the Christian Counsel and other Religious bodies to come together and strategies to monitor political parties on such stands.

According to him, he has not seen any political party stating either in their manifestos or even coming public to state their stands on these issues.

“The Late president, came out clear to state his view on homosexuality and it will be good if such act is emulated by other political leaders”

“Am appealing to my college pastors to be cautious not to support political parties who do not come clear on their stands on societal ills and acts like homosexuality ”

“It is high time churches and religious bodies begin to demand from the political parties their stands on such issues during election time to capture them in their manifesto, before giving them platforms to speak to congregants”

“Don’t allow any party into your church if they are not clear on issues on morality”

He concluded that Pastors and Religious heads are the gate keepers of the country and their failure to take up such act will land the country in disarray.

Speaking on a report of a former Achimota students gay marriage to his boyfriend over the weekend.

Rev. Wengam concluded stating that the country should come together and fight against societal ills by condemning homosexuality

He also charged politicians to come clear on these issues.
